MAKE HOLIDAY GIFTS FROM SEWING SCRAPS
You can make Holiday Gifts to make from your Sewing Scraps
All of us who have been sewing for a while have a stash of sewing scraps. It's time to recycle them into holiday gifts. For some ideas visit Cookie's blog. The pictures she shares are adorable. She also shares sewing instructions. To join ribbon, use the same sewing technique we use for lace to lace sewing. Butt the two ribbons together and zigzag them catching the edge of the two ribbons as you zig and zag! Look how quickly you can dress up a tissue ...

Sewing Quilts for Charity
SEWING A QUILT
Quilting is fun and can be a very social event.
We started the morning looking like a rummage sale in a church hall! These are fabrics donated for us to make charity quilts. We were selling some of them to raise money to buy the threads and batting... it was fun.
Check out MY SEWING ROOM
for sewing projects to sew and information about many
things you can make. It's a new lens and more sewing
information is being added so check back often.

Wool Roving for Needle Felting
I have been searching for a good source for wool roving and wool felt for my latest passion, needle felting. I have the basic selection of mostly primary colors and a few neutral colors. As my expertise evolves with this new craft, I find the need for a larger palette. After an intensive search and comparison of wool roving, I have settled on some of the selections I found here.
There is also a nice selection of wool felt and felt balls.
Best prices I have found for wool roving and needle felting tools.

I found the following article about decorative painting and other trends interesting:
"Craft Trends Reflect Timeless Truths By Lin Wellford I heard it again today. Someone was bemoaning the declining state of the Decorative Painting market. Once known as Tole Painting, the definition was broadened to include any kind of art that could be broken down into teachable steps. Decorative painting was a hot trend not so long ago, generating tons of books and magazines and claiming loads of shelf space in the big box stores. As a reformed fine artist, I love the idea of providing ordinary people with the tools and instructions that allow them to create paintings they can be proud of. more...
